WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY?

Psychotherapy is defined by www.psychologytoday.com, "as a form of treatment aimed at relieving emotional distress and mental health problems. Provided by any of a variety of trained professionals—psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, or licensed counselors—it involves examining and gaining insight into life choices and difficulties faced by individuals, couples, or families."

HOW DO I KNOW IF THERAPY IS FOR ME?

There are many reasons to seek a helping professional for therapy.  Every individual's need is different.  But if you are looking to see a change in your thoughts, behaviors and emotions therapy is likely a great start. With that, here are few stressors that we tend to see in our office however these are not exclusive as many others do exist.

  • Difficulty in functioning with relationships, work, school, sleep, eating and concentration.

  • Constant anxiousness or worrying

  • Loss of interest in activities/feelings of depression/prolonged sadness

  • Thoughts of suicide or wanting to hurt yourself in some way

  • Mood swings, increased irritability, or angry outbursts

  • Life Transitions such as marriage, divorce and career changes

  • Grief and Loss 

  • The NEED to talk to someone

We accept Anthem, Optum, Cigna, Optima, United and Self-pay.
